Project Yard Sales ‘N More  Since the inception of Project Yard Sale in 2006 we have continued to look for ways to raise money for families in need in our school district. In recent years we have taken some of the ‘better’ yard sale items and sold them on Craigslist, Ebay, and most recently – in local consignment stores.

In 2012 we are looking to expand further into consignment sales with some of the wonderful items donated from the community. We have spoken with owners of the local consignment stores where OW has an account and they invite YOU to bring in items to put on our account. All proceeds from the sale of the items goes directly to Operation Wildcat. (ALL proceeds are turned in to gift cards given out by The Guidance Dept and Nurses to families in need).

This does NOT take the place of donating to our clothing room; we still need those items and the procedure for donating stays the same. This new consignment program is for the home décor items, high end furniture, the ‘dressy’ clothing, the fancy shoes, jewelry, etc.

Here’s how it works:  Gather all those items that you don’t really need/want anymore and bring them to one of the consignment stores listed below. The consignment store will log the items under OW account and all proceeds go to OW.

IF you do not hve the time to go to the consignment stores the items can be dropped off at

2425 Clover Drive in a container on the porch.

IF you are not sure if the item(s) are more yard sale then consignment just donate them for the yard sales and we will make the determination where best to sell the item (to make the most money for OW!).

Tax receipts can be given for all items donated either directly at the consignment or dropped off at the above address. (Tax receipts will be given out by OW – not the consignment stores).

Sports Spiritwear Donations  The Mechanicsburg Recreation Department is now accepting “gently” used MASD sports apparel program. These items will be made available to students that can’t afford the typical MASH sports hoodie sweatshirts and sweatpants to represent their teams during the season. The Rec Department will also accept monetary donations for a student, and order appropriately. If you have such items, please drop off items at the Recreation Department and they will take care of getting them to the Varsity or MMS coach that the clothing represents.
